FoundIt ("the App", "we", "us") lets you save real-world places you discover from TikTok, YouTube, X, Google search/Maps shares, and other web links, and view them on a map. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and password. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth; we never see or store your password in plain text.
Location data. With your permission, we use your device's location to center the map on your current position and to bias search results toward nearby places. This is used on-device and is not stored on our servers as a standalone data point.
Saved places. When you save a place — either by pasting a link or entering one by hand — we store its name, coordinates, address, your notes, a photo, and (when available) a Google Places rating, reviews snippet, and review data, plus the original link and platform you saved it from.
Content from links you paste. When you paste a link, our servers fetch public metadata from that link (e.g. a TikTok/YouTube/X post's caption and thumbnail, or a webpage's title/description) to identify the place being discussed. We do not access private or authenticated content on these platforms — only what's publicly visible at that URL.
We rely on the following third-party services to operate the App. Each processes only what's needed for its specific function:

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Your data is stored with Supabase, using industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your saved places is restricted to your account.
We retain your account and saved places for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.
FoundIt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
